What does Yaphah mean?
Yaphah is a Hebrew word that means "beautiful, as if to shine."
What is the vision of Yaphah?
The vision of Yaphah is to join God in transforming young women through mentoring relationships. Through a spiritually strong connection of three (a Yaphah Girl, God and her mentor - Eccl. 4:12), the hope of this program is that the girls who participate will know they are beautiful because of Jesus Christ, and they can shine His light as a Yaphah Girl.
How are girls selected to be in the Yaphah Friends mentoring program?
Yaphah girls are already active in Orange Mound Outreach Ministries (OMOM), led by Rev. Reggie and Mary Tucker, who recommend girls 8th grade through 12th grade to participate in Yaphah Friends.
